NATIONAL PORK PRODUCERS COUNCIL - World Pork Expo General Manager/ Director of Projects and Events

Summary: Director of Projects and Events is responsible for the coordination and execution of NPPC meetings, events and other projects. World Pork Expo General Manager is responsible for overseeing and execution of the World Pork Expo Trade Show.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs range of duties. Requires knowledge of Council practices/policies, and regular and reliable attendance. Work requires initiative and judgment in the performance of such duties as: • Planning for NPPC meetings/events to include: hotel contracts, meal functions, AV equipment, coordination with vendors and other related details
• Maintain a master calendar of activities and events • Meeting arrangements for NPPC meetings: BOD, annual, committee, and membership.
• Management and execution of World Pork Expo programs as designated: o Oversee WPX areas including Exhibitor operations, registration & sponsorships o Budget management and invoice approval o Manage Relationships/Contracts with Vendors o Working with Marketing Firm: show promotion, WPX website edits, social media, media events, news releases, media trade outs, media name badges, annual theme selection o Special Events management and execution: Musicfest, children’s activities, luncheons, private meetings, Headquarter hotel and rooming lists o Sponsorship execution on and off site o Show program: content management, editing, managing ad sales relationship o Expo team meetings, attire, work schedules, all-staff meetings, internal communications o General Items: Schedule of events, signage, loud speaker announcements, expo master calendar, warehouse/delivery coordination o Support & assistance to other areas: WPOCTC shirts/handouts, gold sponsor recognition/signage, international tour rooming list/hotel execution

Qualifications: Must be a self-motivated person and can work effectively without direct supervision. The individual must have good written and oral communication skills. Needs to be able to work well with other people, be flexible and be open to change. Need good organizational skills and able to handle several projects at one time with the ability to make sound decisions, as job responsibilities require. Must possess the ability to coordinate and plan multiple meetings and projects simultaneously. Must have a good working knowledge of Word, Power Point, Excel, and database operations.

Travel Occasional overnight travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Education and/or Experience Four years college Four years event management or equivalent work experience in a related field
